Visual Direction for a Debut Release
The Truth is more than a debut single. It is a personal reflection on my coming out journey. The song is both specific and universal. It can resonate with anyone who has felt the weight of hiding a part of themselves.
As part of my capstone project, I developed a full visual identity and campaign around the track under my artist name, BALBIN. This project was never just about getting a high distinction. It was about telling my story clearly and honestly, and creating something that could connect with others.
The design process was guided by the lyrics and the emotional tone of the song. From the grayscale cover art with coloured vein-like lines representing identity breaking through, to the lyric video and campaign materials, every element was crafted to feel human, vulnerable, and intentional.
